This is an obnoxious new era of faddish 'hippie' style dressing strictly reserved for these celebrated festivals that have now turned into costume parties more than anything else. Hippie bell-bottoms and "vintage" rock band tees that ninety percent of music goers would never don in their everyday lives, ever again. And it all kinda pisses me off for some reason. If you recall past posts here and here these feelings are nothing new. What ever happened to the music? Which, correct me if I am wrong this is a music festival isn't it? Dressing like "hippie's" all for the sake of getting photographed and gaining more likes and new followers on Instagram? Ah, no. And those comparing it to Woodstock? Sure Woodstock was all about getting naked, but they also rolled in mud. Getting high and being at one with the music and nature around them. Being at one with everything. There was a point and message to the three day festival. It broke records and brought on a new age. It was all peace and love not narcism.

I've read that article just now. And I salute it. And you for writing this post! The term 'festival wear' pisses me off like nothing else. Ok, maybe like a shit-load of other stuff, like 'selfie' for example.:) You can wear crop tops and cut off denim shorts and headbands all year round and that's kind of the point if that's your thing, if that's your style. But you don't go to a festival for three days and turn into this hippie freak. So if you went to an electronic music dance party (I don't want to say rave:)) you'd wear fuzzy leg warmers and a pacifier?? It's a total cliché and the fact that you can go to an online store and click on a 'festival wear' label and buy floral/fringed/cut-off shit is just stupid. How unimaginative have people gotten?!?! I'm actually going to an electronic music dance party tomorrow and I'm planning on wearing almost that exact same outfit the girl with the black sheer turtleneck has on, I'm just wearing my studded Docs with it (if I don't change my mind and wear neon pink leg-warmers). Does that mean I'm not a raver?? There, I said it, rave.:) I mean for fuck's sake, people...
ReplyDeletewonderful inspiration!!
ReplyDeletethanks so much for sharing these pictures.

well. the first whenever you go out what comes to your mind is what to wear...so i guess in such occasion, if something becomes trend setter, that's not bad..in the end we all learn some kinda style from everywhere..

I haven't read the article but now I have. Haha she had it all. She could have at least spared uswith the fanny pack lol!! I read in a magazine that most of the celebs get paid to wear that stuff. So it's actually not a surprise! These looks are cute anyway :)
