That whole Birkenstock thing is having another moment and I am not it's hugest fan. Sure they're absurdly agreeable to ones footsies; like walking on gossamer clouds, pillows and all. But they're pretty repelling and I personally hold the belief that they also produce cankles. Either way these b****es are here to stay so rather than dusting off ye ole' white pair I know I have buried deep within the confines of my closet I think I'd prefer a newer pair, because why the hell not. And these Isabel Marant babies still have that 'slide' factor so they're totally in with that crowd but they also have that oh so pretty crossed-over weave at the front which makes for a much more flattering and stylish look to ones footsies which is always important. In my books anyway. How about you guys? Yay or nay?

ReplyDeleteThey do look comfortable, but I'm not a fan of the whole birkinstock sandal thing.
ReplyDeleteI prefer roaming around in thongs though so what do I know about fashionable sandals? hahaha! :)

I've seen a lot of people rocking the Birkenstocks....and while it suits some peoples style....I don't know if I could rock them. I mean...I had a pair that I was obsessed with in the 90s lol....but ya...I don't think they're for me. But these Isabel Marant ones....come home to mama!!!! :)

Nay for these but some of the Birkenstocks can be quite cute. However my mum and grandma already wore them when bloggers didn't even exist so I can't take this trend that serious xD
ReplyDeleteAlso thanks for your last comment. In fact I didn't buy any of the shirts in the end xD
xx
Haha these slippers are bubble like! I bet they are very comfy too!
ReplyDeleteHmm, they look comfy. Not sure if I'm a fan of the look. First time visitor here and I'm enjoying your blog! Followed you on GFC, Bloglovin and Instagram.
ReplyDeleteMmm Sonia you know, I think for me they are nay, Im not much into this kind of shoes, though I think they must be very comfy. But I also would love to see them paired in an outfit, maybe with a maxi black skirt and a white shirt, should be very nice :) Have a lovely week dear, kisses! xo

I can't say I can get on this trend. It's like the sneaker trend or the mule trend... I just can't do it. I guess I just can't get over the oxfords...

I know I hear you, not sure if I will ever be on board with these outside of flat land hiking. I remember when I first visited Seattle from NY and saw people running around in the tan ones with socks. I was shocked. Haha.

Hey :)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for your comment!
I must say that I hate these kind of shoes ^^ They seem to be comfy but that's it.
Sometimes I think the designers don't have good ideas anymore.Every trend must be recycled or it has to look futuristic.
Both isn't my favour :-/

I'm sure if I brought these home (or had them shipped) they'd end in the Things My Boyfriend Doesn't Like post.:D I can't say I'm a fan - when it comes to me, I wouldn't wear them, but I do think they look really cool and stylish on other people. On SOME other people.:)
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to comment on your noodle - I did get the noodle synonym, I think I heard it on TV or something already. It did make me hungry though. For pasta, not for penis.:D
I just saw your comment on my blog. You have to see these videos by Jenna because you can't go through life not knowing exactly who she is.:D

I have to agree, I think they're still one of those things I've yet to 'get'... I just find them so ugly, but then I hate feet & feel like if they have to be on show they should at least be in a pretty sandal! Hah! Saying that I think there are some people that pull them off, but only a very few!
ReplyDeleteLooking so comfy and trendy! xxx!

Yay/Nay am kin of in between not sure. They look like those 60's kin of flats, that grandpa's would usually rock lol, but they can be very stylish if worn with proper outfit, they don't need heavy outfits, just simple and relaxed, I got something similar from zara am still thinking if I should keep them or sell them off.
ReplyDeleteThey not everyone's cup of tea that's why they re unique :)

ReplyDeleteoh, well. If you ask me I'd say no, I wouldn't wear such sandals. Just because this is not my kind of thing. Some people can look brilliant in such footwear, though! It depend only on what you are going to wear with them)
ReplyDeleteWish you a great day ahead!
i'm not yet convinced....

I was literally just having this convo with a friend about birkenstocks and how ugly they are!!! The only time I would maybe consider wearing them is if I was trekking around Europe for a summer, but I just think they are so ugly! I could see myself wearing the Isabel Marant ones much more than true birkenstocks. They look much chicer!

I am instead a HUGE fan of the Stocks! I wear them at home, outside, anywhere. I have multiple colors - red, blue, purple.. these IM is cute too but if you live here in the middle east you'll realised that every Arab guy that wears the dis-dash or kandura (the traditional dress) have pretty similar pair :)

i'd buy these in a heartbeat if i could afford them :) big fan of birks (sorry) as i walk to work and back so comfort is a big big factor..
ReplyDeletesteph / absolutely-fuzzy.com
I was also anti-Birk but then I tried on a pair and never looked back. I like that they make your feet look all bulky and clunky! But no cankles for me ;)
ReplyDeleteBut yes, if I had a spare £280.. I'd be buying them too! ;)
