Guys, I am just the worst. I shared some disheartening news about my fur baby Chanel a few weeks back (refresh your memory here) and during my previous post I forgot to inform you all that she is doing a-ok. I also never got around to thanking you all for your concern and the incredible love sent her way. I swear if my Coco-Bean understood what a blogging community is or the internet in general, she would be wagging her tail silly. Mind you, she saves that super special occasions. I did post a quick update on Instagram yesterday since the general consensus was that of need for urgent updating. So rest assured she is really, really good.
So, Sydney fashion week is over and done with but the buzz surrounding some of the designs that came traipsing down whimsical runways remains. Like the ethereal effervescence of Tony Maticevski or the resplendence of Ten Pieces at Bondi Iceburgs. Despite being unable to attend this year because you know, life and stuff, I happily watched from the sidelines. Especially the street fashions. Not that I am biased or anything but us Aussies really are a stylish bunch and boy do we know how to dress too.
xoxo

Aww I'm glad your little pup Chanel is feeling better! :) It's not easy when they are unwell :(
ReplyDeleteThese are some good street style pics - although the first one is a bit too much for me, the second one with that maxi dress and the leather jacket and trainers....Wow I wish I could pull that off, such a great look! :)
Away From The Blue
That maxi dress and sneaker look is by far my fave. I do love the ripped denim one though hehehe xx
DeleteSo in love with all this style inspo you got going! It is my dream wardrobe, and a nice Aussie man wouldn't be bad either, lol. :)) They are just dreamy. Glad your fur baby is doing well!

I don't know if it's just me, but I find the street styles so much more interesting than the actual fashion show. I adore the black lace outfit the girl was wearing, it's insanely gorgeous! And I'm so glad your fur baby is doing ok now :)

There's quite a few images here that I've never before seen, which is always exciting (not to mention refreshing)! I absolutely love the first look shown in this post and the extreme tearing to the trousers, what a daring look to work!!

I'm glad to hear Gabrielle. I hate to duplicate content like that which is always my worst fear when selecting images open to the masses like that. I hate to publish and speak of the same thing as other bloggers do. If that makes sense? xx
DeleteOh gosh there are so many great looks in this post! I especially love the dress + sneakers combo. I've seen a few people style their dresses that way I think I'm digging it. I also like long denim skirts with sneakers too. The black dress is lovely as well!
ReplyDeleteZ · JPOTTER
That dress and sneaker look is exceptional. I don't think I could pull it off quite as flawlessly as she and others have done previously. I'd love to see your take on it though! xx

Great looks (exept for the ripped back jean which shows your bootie all around :P) I think I'll go for a simple outfit such as skinny jeans, graphic tee and a jacket!

I love streetstyle so much! Great post dear, those outfits inspired me :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteEveryone looks amazing! I'm not sure how I'd handle wearing jeans like the ones in the first pic though haha. Lovely post, you've made me want to go shopping now

I don't think I could wear them myself because I'd keep pulling at them. That's not to say that I don't looooove them though. xx

Sonia, you always share the most awesome fashion photos. My my, I'm so puffed up with wonder seeing the first photo. What a cute fashion that is and she doesn't even look like a slut there. Quite fashionable indeed. It's strange. I thought I remember seeing that your furbaby is well on the route to recovery. I'm sure she felt all the blogging community's love.

Taipei and Hong Kong are almost similar in terms of the type of city they are and also they are famous for the shopping and street food. You would love all the friendly dogs in Taipei, Sonia! As for being a fussy eater, hahaha... I got no comments on that coz even if I encourage you to try, it's already in your DNA not to. =)
Jo
Jo's Jumbled Jardinière
There is something wonderful about that image, not just for the jeans (which I do love Jo!) but for the photography. There's something about that image that makes me want to convert it to black and white format and frame it. And re your comment about mine. I love you Jo! Yes do not even bother trying to convince me because nothing you can say would get me to try anything other than chicken or something sweet like cake or chocolate. But we'd have a hell of a lot of fun regardless. I'm good at entertaining and being silly and stuff xx

Glad your fur baby is doing well, Sonia. I must admit, I am living proof as to how amazing the blogging community really is. Everyone has been terrific since I've been on this hopefully brief hiatus:)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your fashion post Sonia. As you know, I am no fashionista but, you choose images that not only have style but life too and they always brighten my time here. Thank you:) btw, I have a pair of jeans from way back when that are torn in pretty much the same place as that top shot. for the life of me, I just can't toss them. Who knows, they may be in style by the time my grand-daughter fits into them. (I was a bit slimmer then, lol)
P.S. I'm not back to blogging yet but I'm trying to stay in touch because I miss you "guys" so...

ReplyDeleteHey Sonia! Gosh it's been way too long. Sorry for my silence over the past few weeks! HOW ARE YOU!?!?
I'm SO glad your Coco-bean is OKAY!!!!! Phew. Lovely that you had such a wonderful online support system babe. See, blogging is a beautiful thing!
Thank you for such a genuine, lovely comment on my post!!! You're so special and I am blessed to call you my friend. You've been a constant support with my writing and novel for ages now and I really appreciate that - it's crazy that I feel so close with so many of my blogging friends that I've never met.
I have a feeling that I may be getting... ENGAGED ... soon and I'd so love you to come to my wedding! Really!!! That will only be in a good year or so as it needs to be planned etc but you know there are a handful of my blogging friends that really stand out to me and you're one of them!!
Whose gonna come all the way to South Africa for a wedding of some chick they've never met though haahahaha :P

Heyyyyy girl! Never apologise for an absence darling, I get it. Life. I swear I got all teary when I saw this pop up in my email. You are the cutest. I am waaaaaaay more blessed to call you friend. And I know that feeling. At times I feel a stronger closeness to my blogger pals more than the actual, physical ones I see (or not) daily. Annnnd EEEEEEEE! If you get engaged I am so there. I'll get on a board and paddle to South Africa (maybe attach a GoPro to capture the hilarious and lengthy pursuit). I wouldn't miss it for the world. Good luck Jade, he better put a ring on it! ;o)

It's good to know your little fur baby is doing well, Sonia! And wow, these pictures are gorgeous, the girls and the fashion are stunning. And yet I ask myself, how do some achieve such a sharp sense of fashion that me as mere mortal never managed to grasp? LOL! I have never thought of pairing a maxi dress with leather jacket but looking at these pictures, it's such a chic look.
ReplyDeleteShireen | Reflection of Sanity

Hi Coco,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your little loved one being under the weather, but in a way glad that I caught the good news eventually!! oh boy, that first pic sure is an attention grabber! I wouldn't in my life dare to wear like that though, going out on the street! haha
I am more of that woman in black dress type in the 3rd picture but day dreaming my way all the time to dress like the rest of them in all your pictures! Too greedy, am I not??!! haha
Such lovely post! Bias? I don't think so. I do noticed Aussies really know how to dress up in style and most of my favourite bloggers are actually from where you are. You are one of them, ahem *_^
I find australian bloggers really puts in the time and effort to have quality content in the blogging world and are making headways with big names like gary pepper, zanita, margaret and many others. I didn't follow any of the fashion week scene but I bet it was awesome!
One of these days, I seriously need to visit this beautiful country!
Always a pleasure reading your blog posts.
Big hugs,
Jeann
