Following on from the utter chaos and conceitedness that was the
Real Housewives of Sydney reunion, MBFWA began on a high note with
Dion Lee at the iconic Sydney Opera House showcasing a structured array of pieces; menswear included. The streets were just as lively as the runways (aren't they ever) with a dissimilitude of structured suits and textures to voluminous exaggeration and a kaleidoscope of hues. Chanel versus Gucci. Slides against stilettos. Black versus red. But best of all androgyny and an antithesis of spirited effeminate essence with a pop of the unexpected. Be it via a fishnet sock or washed out
denim blues.

So many pieces in this post has got me wanting to entirely revamp my wardrobe! I adore the trench coat, as well as Sarah Ellen's geometric-stylish white blouse. Perfect!

They all look so perfect and like they freshly stepped out of an editorial. I wish I have the same sense of fashion and confidence!
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how many of the outfits seem to be classic black and white colours - although as you pointed out there are a few touches of colours, the classic failsafe black and/or white seems to be the way to go!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a lovely weekend :)

Sonia, thanks for the link to Dion Lee's collection! I loved it! I think all the pieces are so wearable and very contemporary but not trendy. <3 And yeah...during Fashion Week, I look forward to seeing what the people are wearing on the street as much as what's on the runway:)
ReplyDeletePS Thank you so much for that comment about Goblin. I did read a blog post about the weirdness of the age gap between the two. TBH, I don't mind it as much, maybe because it's Gong Yoo and I'm pretty much just drooling over him most of the time:P My complaint is really more about the female lead casting. As much as I love Kim Go Eun (she was freaking awesome in Monster), I don't like her as Eun Tak. I don't think there's a lot of onscreen chemistry between her and GY, but what do I know? Heh! Anyhoo, just finished Ep8. So curious about the ending now!
Great post! I love all outfits.

Thanks so much for sharing the Sydney street style with us, girlie; I've always admired Australian brands and fashion in general, so I'm not at all impressed by all these amazing looks, I wouldn't expect anything less! I hope you're having a great start to your week so far, beauty!
