Snowstorm be damned, the (fashion) show must go on.
New Yorkers and alike persisted with a resistance and rebellion against the weather. Through seventies flare (and flares) dabbling with leather eccentricities, black making its stylish statement and a sea of denim blues with exposed, naked limbs, the insubordination was triumphant. And amongst such insurgency several themes reigned supreme, illustrating such trends and accessories that are bound to be coveted by the masses. From bold primary colours and print to the throngs of (hopefully faux) fur coats and down jackets. Like this pink Gucci shearling button up as seen on Ms Zhang, an effeminate dream of opulence and warmth, a piece one yearns to embrace on such dreary, rainy days.
And while the desirable Chanel boy arm candy continued to slay, this time round the street style limelight shone directly in favour for J.W. Anderson's pierce bag; soon to be the newest craze and coveted "IT" bag for the year ahead. Drawing strength in its structure and a rebellious nature with its daring golden piercing, analogous to the very attitude on those New York streets.

Yasss! I love this round up! So many oversized coats this season, and like everyone is wearing them off the shoulders. It's pretty crazy that they are still so persistent even with the weather haha. To be honest, from watching the shows on Insta stories through some of my favorite bloggers, I didn't see too many wearable pieces this year. I would also have liked to see some more piratical looks for the snowy weather. But hey, I guess that's what makes it fashion week! ;p

OMG yes! Resistance and rebellion, as far as the weather goes, this FW was GRUELING. But FW itself was great, and worth all the stress and strain. Excellent round up of photos and the street style photographers were troopers too!

I attended two NYFW presentations over the weekend and I have to say the street style was almost as fascinating as the shows. And more power to those who dared to go with bare legs in freezing temperatures. That was definitely not me LOL

I love this wild and rebellious feel in the styles featured! The chunky thick fur coats are also really awesome as well. Street style has really transformed a lot, and I am loving this change. I took this art history class where we studied fashions throughout history, and fashion really responds to the political issues at the time. Fashion reflects everything going on in the environment because it's a way of expression. It responds and is dependent on society, and I can see this actually playing out. So inspiring!!
